Penpaling [sic] Paula

Penpaling Paula (likely intended to be pronounced as “pal” rather than “pale” as spelled), is a Spanish-Irish creator who makes some quite lovely stationery on offer both as stand-alone products and as Patreon-based subscription tiers. I recently received my first of her bimountly releases in the mail and it was packed full of useful and original things.

Like many small-shop stationery sellers, Paulas delivery envelopes are quite decorative. I haven’t received this many parcels from Ireland, so it was nice to see that she also uses real stamps, and a lovely selection of them at that.

There were lots of stickers and cards inside. Paula ships every two months, but produces her content every month - a strange arrangement, but one likely saving her a ton of shipping costs, as her Patreon subscription is paid monthly. This means my first package contained the April and May items.

April’s theme was “farm animals” and May’s was House Plants. In addition to the stickers and postcards for each theme, there were matching stationery notepads. I have not yet had a chance to test these with my pens but they look good, and the paper is a fairly heavy and smooth stock.

This is the kind of stuff I would love to share too - I am not sure I could match the creative power of Paula and her contemporaries but I’ve just purchased a colour printer so at least I can start making some of my own stationery on paper I can feel confident about.

More to come on my own ambitions at being a Patreon stationery subscription star, and the paper I am attached to most lately. In the meantime, I recommend checking out Paula!
