Nueva Era

I love it when new papeteries open, and if my Instagram ad feed is anything to go by, this market is booming right now. I especially love it when a new bricks-and-mortar one opens near me. Nueva Era is the latest I’ve seen in Montréal, and which I had the pleasure to visit recently.

The staff helpfully found me something to buy - some new Lamy ink and a converter for my recent foray into fountain pens.

I also got some lovely locally-made greetings cards. They didn’t have any branded merchandise yet, alas. However, they had some swell postcards, which I will love putting to use in my new-found Postcrossing hobby.

What I really love is that the space is in a part of the Gay Village of Montréal that really needs some love right now. It is right next door to Le Stud, the only gay bar I’ve ever spent much time in in Montréal, and at this moment they are hemmed in by a substantial amount of Montréal’s characteristic all-consuming construction.

If you are around, I highly recommend giving them a visit!
