Letras Literarias

My first stationery purchase from a vendor in Mexico comes from Letras Literarias. Like many boutique stationery sellers, the package arrived lovingly wrapped with attention to the little details that only stationery nerds notice, like a string tie, wax seal, and a gift tag and thank-you note written in fountain-pen calligraphy.

The current selection in the Etsy store seems to be running low on many items, such as stamps, notepads and such. I managed to score a large selection of washi tapes and stamp-form washi rolls, as well as one of the A6 notepads on offer.

Something I really appreciated about this seller’s aesthetic is likely related to the shop’s own origin. Growing up in California, I always found Mexican culture rather goth. Especially the religious and ritual culture - the mixing of indigenous/Aztec culture with the dark and spooky elements of Catholicism have combined to make an aesthetic well-suited to those who like things a little darker and moodier. Letras Literarias brings this aesthetic to the stationery world - a breath of Addams Family mansion air in an otherwise Glade plug-in world of pastels.

I will keep an eye out for new items from this seller and hopefully have lots to get from him again. I highly recommend checking his Etsy store out!
