Kawaii Pen Shop

Kawaii Pen Shop is a Hong Kong-based stationer that has what I would so far consider one of the best selections of journaling and letter-writing supplies I’ve found so far. In addition to their great selection, they have free international shipping with fairly low thresholds, and their packages arrive super fast despite their remote location.

I was buried in my latest washi tape obsession when I first surfed here, so a big portion of my order consisted of just this. I liked their thematic collections based on colour, content and artist, complete in quality matching packaging.

This is in addition to individual and artist-specific collections, though their artist-specific ones seemed (like many shops) restricted to public domain images. Still, some of their selections are great quality stuff and intensely pigmented, which differs from some of the washed-out washis that seem to fill out most catalogues.

One of the things that got me onto this specific website was a search I was making for Mo.Card brand stickers. I landed one of these cute little boxes of sticky fun in an Etsy store and wanted to find more, and Kawaii has a ton of them.

Their selection of non-adhesives is also impressive, with paper, notebooks and of course, pens and pencils. They steer more to the high-end Japanese and youth ends of the market, but I will likely revisit next time I need some decorative pens or to try out some new notebooks. I recommend them!
